Something just occured to me while watching the VOD: It's entirely possible Gris had a depression attack at solely because she attempted to sing right after conquering her general sadness of the loss of her (presumed) mother, and found out she was unable to do so. This might have hit her hard as she probably thought she had achieved acceptance, the final stage, and could begin to go on as she was right at the start of the game: singing and being with her mother, in perfect harmony.
